Beautiful routes and great prizes
The official time slot for the stage starts next Saturday with the start and finish in Herti, Zug.
Our second last stage starts next Saturday, August 9th. There are still eight weeks left to run for great prizes. The timing devices for the mountain stage are located in the Schmittli and on the Zugerberg. The start and finish for the circular route are in Herti.
The short lap of stage 05_Zug with start and finish at the Herti athletics facility measures 2.1 kilometers. Since last year, the middle loop has been 6.7 kilometers long and branches off to the right after Letzi-Hof onto the cycle path towards Riedmatt. It follows the Alte Lorze in the direction of Baar and branches off before the highway bridge back along the Lorze to Herti. The long route is extremely varied, turning left towards the lake in Riedmatt instead of right towards Baar. The route runs via Choller, Hirsgarten Cham, Eizmoos, Pfad, Bibersee, Steinhauserwald to Blickensdorf and then back to Herti. At 17.2 kilometers, together with the Ägeriseerunde, it is the longest Trophy stage. At 220 meters in altitude, it also has one or two crisp climbs. It is the ideal training lap for anyone taking part in the SwissCityMarathon in Lucerne on October 26, 2025.
The mountain stage from Schmittli to Zugerberg is an "evergreen". Over the 3.3 kilometers, there are 290 meters of altitude to overcome. The path winds its way through the forest, steadily gaining altitude. Once you are over the hill, the wonderful view of Zug awaits you. And that is simply fantastic - especially at sunset.
So far, over 1160 people have run, walked or cycled at least one of our routes. Anyone who reaches the limits of 75, 150 or 300 kilometers or 2500, 5000 or 10,000 meters in altitude by the end on 3 October 2025 will receive a great prize. So taking part is doubly worthwhile.
Free start for the 79th Zug orienteering event
On Sunday, 21 September 2025, the Zug Orienteering Association is organizing a city orienteering event in Sijentalwald Rotkreuz, part of which runs through the forest. There are various courses with different levels of difficulty. Trophy participants who complete stages four, five and six start free of charge.
