Recording errors or GPS problems on Android
If a power saving mode or a battery optimization mode is activated on your Android device, your activity cannot be recorded with high accuracy. Even if your phone is not in power saving mode, a single app such as the "Chrome browser" can be selected for battery optimization. You must disable the battery optimization setting before you can use the recorder.
NOTE: Android operating system updates can turn battery optimization back on, even if you have previously logged out.
You can disable the power saving setting by following these device-specific steps:
Google Pixel devices:
Go to "Settings".
Select "Apps and notifications".
Select "Advanced".
Select "Special app access".
Select "Power saving mode" >> "All apps".
Find "Chrome" in the list and select "Do not optimize".
Samsung devices:
Go to "Apps".
Select your browser.
Select "Battery".
Select "Optimize battery life".
Select "All" from the drop-down menu at the top
Find "Chrome" in the list and select "Do not optimize"
Motorola devices:
Swipe up from a home screen to access all apps.
Navigate to "Settings" >> "Security & Location" >> "Location".
Tap the "Location" switch (top right) to turn it on or off (this feature must be turned on to customize GPS services)
If available, read the disclaimer "Consent to use location data" and then tap "Agree" to continue.
LG devices:
Go to "Settings".
Go to "Apps and notifications".
Select "Special access".
Select "Exceptions for power saving mode".
Activate "Chrome".
NOTE: "Chrome" can be replaced by your preferred browser.
NOTE: These instructions may vary slightly depending on the version of the smartphone and the operating system version.
